As always HR was in hurry to close position and scheduled the F2f interview next day. Took 90 minutes to search the room where interview can be taken. Once I got seated they told someone from pune will take interview. Interview went for almost an hour and was asked to wait as my feedback will be shared to HR. After 15 minutes HR called and told me you have cleared first round and now managerial round will take place in next 30 minutes. I was asked to complete other formalities like registration and finger print scan so that they can keep for records. After 30 minutes, HR told me panelist is busy with some call, you can have your lunch and then we can continue. After waiting for 60 minutes more, HR told today managerial round will not be possible. You can leave for the day, we we will contact you to schedule interview this week only. I left and waited entire week, it was not scheduled. I called HR after 5 days and she told Apologies there was some confusion the open position was for Splunk Developer not for Devops Engineer.
What type of treatment is this by such a renowned mnc. I mailed to HR and her lead too and messaged on LinkedIn but as expected they treat themselves as some God and didn't reply to my mails.
The interview process was very dull, unenthusiastic, and impersonal. They asked very technical systems engineering questions, mostly focused on infrastructure, DevOps fundamentals, troubleshooting, and general backend/system design concepts. The interviewers did not seem particularly engaged, and the conversation felt more like a checklist than a real discussion about the role, team, or candidate fit.
There was not much effort to explain the day-to-day responsibilities, team culture, or growth opportunities. Overall, the process felt rigid and transactional. The technical questions were fair, but the experience itself was not very welcoming or energizing.

They asked how I would troubleshoot a Linux server or production system that was experiencing high CPU usage, including what commands I would use and how I would narrow down the root cause.

Nice interviewers, they ask system design questions. Work habits, gitlab, community, best traits, pros and cons.
Furthermore, they were very kind to me during the interview process. I really appreciate it.

How does terraform works? How does GitLab work? Show me a system design architecture for a gaming website so that the latency is low and efficient.

Very wierd experience interviewing with IBM for 4 Yrars DevOps Engineer position. 1st round was with a newbie who didn't knew anything asking questions from google and checking answer on google had to correct hom few times. Second round with someone senior who was technically decent went good and last round was with PM which went good post that ghosted me.
