At Space in Africa, our mission is to empower commercial companies, governments, and multilateral entities within the African space industry value chain to make informed, data-driven decisions.
To achieve this, we have established a track record of excellence by developing the largest space database in Africa. We utilise this extensive database to provide advisory services that support strategic decision-making for commercial, governmental, and non-governmental entities.
Our clients include policymakers and decision-makers across the globe. They seek to facilitate business development in the private sector, collaborate with African governments, and enhance capacity development. We work with space agencies and private companies to provide the data and intelligence necessary for the growth of space exploration in Africa and to meet the region’s developmental needs.
Founded in 2018, Space in Africa is committed to expanding its team to serve the needs of the African space industry. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive workplace, offering the best benefits and fostering the professional growth of our team members.
Through the Space in Africa Internship Programme, we are looking to hire six analyst-interns to work closely with various departments within SiA to analyse trends and developments and help drive an understanding of key market policies and programmes in the African space industry.
Analyst-Interns at Space in Africa will shadow Analysts in conducting market analysis, gather data for consulting and advisory projects and industry reports, and write news articles. We welcome sel-driven individuals who have excellent work ethics and communication skills. This is an internship-for-hire position, with top-performing interns expected to join the company for full-time roles.
Internship Duration
The internship programme runs for four months per cohort three times a year. Applications for internships are received throughout the year. The programme accommodates a limited number of candidates in each cohort, and we will only communicate with the short-listed candidates.
Benefits
We strongly encourage female applicants.
If you are passionate about space technology and possess the skills and experience required for this role, please apply via the Google Form link. In your cover letter, please highlight your relevant experience and why you want to join Space in Africa.
We encourage you to apply now. Our team is reviewing the applications on a rolling basis and will close the recruitment process once we find suitable candidates for this cohort.
Once accepted, successful candidates will have two weeks to accept the conditional offer from the company, after which it will expire. Interns are expected to start their internship on the specified date. The internship program is fully virtual, so selected interns must have access to a working personal computer and internet.
Upon commencement, interns will undergo the company’s standard onboarding process and then be assigned to their designated teams by the program coordinator, who will also assign a mentor to each intern for the duration of the internship.
At the end of the internship, candidates will go through an evaluation process and submit a report detailing what they have gained from the internship and how they plan to use this knowledge to contribute to the growth of the African space industry.
