      Entrevista

      Applied through the Zillow website. Candidates interviewing for the same position have to go through the following rounds : 1. Phone Screen with recruiter 2. Take Home Assignment 3. Phone Screen with the Hiring manager - This is where my candidature ended 4. Onsite Interviews I didn't go beyond the hiring manager round. I am rating this interview experience as a negative one primarily because I felt the recruiter for the job was very unprofessional. I had an interview with the hiring manager on the second week of September. After the interview ended, I had asked the manager about the timeline for interview feedback and followup. She said she was going to interview more candidates over the next couple of weeks and then the recruiter would be in touch with me regarding the next steps. So I waited for a couple of weeks and never heard back from the recruiter. Three weeks after the interview I contacted the recruiter via email, but didn't receive any reply. I followed up with two more emails and only then she replied back saying that the hiring manager has decided to move forward with other candidates. She said that she hadn't received any of my previous emails which I think is highly unlikely - her reply email contained the whole email chain and I could clearly see that she had received the email. Nevertheless, I then wrote a "Thank You" email and asked the recruiter for feedback from the interview process and then a couple of questions about what the freeze period same role was and whether I am eligible to apply for other Data Scientist roles at Zillow. The response was again dismal and after following up three times she responded to my question about eligibility to apply for other roles. I then sent her another email asking her for feedback and only then she replied back saying that they do not provide any feedback. I am not sure if that is the policy at Zillow regarding interview feedback, but if that was the case the recruiter could have just mentioned that the first time I asked her. My question regarding "Freeze period for the same role" remains unanswered to this day, however I have no desire to follow up any more. I believe every interview experience is beneficial for a candidate regardless of whether he/she is offered the job or not - there are many positives you can take away from the interview. At the same time I think there are several positives for the company even if they don't end up liking the candidate. One positive I was not able to takeaway from the whole process was constructive feedback which would help me perform better on future interviews. However, I would say that the recruiter's behavior in my case was highly unprofessional. I hope that there is better communication if I am given the chance to interview in the future.
