I applied through a hiring center (thus I can't really tell you about perceptions), but this is how my process went.
I was called in and came in for a 5:00 interview. I ended up having two interviews and both went smoothly. The two interviews I had that day were basically technical questions like "Tell me a time in which you had to manage over a lot of people" and such. I was scheduled for a third interview a week later at 12:30. This is where I hit a road block.
I went in about 15 minutes early. I ended up waiting there for about 4 or 5 hours. Apparently, they "lost my application". I, in the end, did get the job at $8.65/hr.

Easy. Just google walmart interview questions. Just scenarios that you might encounter while at work. Try to make it relate to what you've done in the past to resolve such scenarios.

Interviewed by three different people. They asked the same set of questions. You're hired as long as you somehow answer the questions and meet the availability requirement for whatever position. Most Walmarts will hire people based on availability and decide if you're cut out for the job after a few months of working

They only cared about filling the position and not much else. When I asked them to repeat one of the questions, they handed me the paper with the questions on it because they didn't feel like reading it again. I probably would have gotten the job without answering any questions
