Just a simple one on one interview arranged over the phone with the manager of the branch, lasted around thirty minutes which basic questions about why you're applying and what strengths you think you have.

Pregunta 1
What made you choose retail and what makes you a good candidate for it?
Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en The Perfume Shop (Northampton, Inglaterra) en oct 2019
Entrevista
I applied online, and about a week later received an email inviting me into the store for a group interview. I arrived on the day and there were four other applicants attending, and we all sat down to answer questions from the Area Manager and the Store Manager after filling out forms confirming our availability and recent work positions.
First we went round the group doing an icebreaker activity, where we gave our names, ages, a fun fact about ourselves and answering what perfume we would describe ourselves as. Then followed a task where we split into smaller groups to design our own fragrance and then present it to everyone, and a final activity where we each had a fragrance to 'sell' to the managers by talking about the scent and how it made us feel. All of this took about an hour.
At the end we were told we would be called later that day if we were successful, and would receive an email if not. I personally did not receive an email so called the following day to ask, and was rudely told that I had not - an email then arrived two days later informing me that I could receive feedback from my interview, however I still have not received this either.
Pros:
-It was a relatively fast process.
- The group interview was an interesting format that I hadn't experienced before and was perhaps more engaging than a one-to-one interview.
-Offered the chance for feedback
- Two slots were available so you could choose when you preferred to be interviewed.
Cons:
- Never received feedback and wasn't even informed that I hadn't gotten the role, despite being told that I would get an email. After calling the store to check I found the response quite cold and unprofessional.
- As interesting as the group interview was, I feel as if it was an attempt at getting through as many people as quickly as possible to fill Christmas temp roles and so felt very impersonal.

I went in store and asked for an application...
Bought in on the Tuesday and got a call on Thursday, the interview was the following week on the Wednesday.
The manager was so lovely and made me feel comfortable so I was eased as the interview went on.
At the very end I found out I GOT THE JOB!
We discussed the times and hours and the pay, uniform requirements, gone through some documents etc.
And that was it!
Scenarios -
1. Older gentleman looking for a gift for his friend, sell this product to him.
2. Busy store with loads of customers and one customer has loads of samples but can’t decide which one to buy, what do you do in that situation?
3. 15 before your shift and the town centre is quiet with no customers in, what do you do in those last 15 minutes.
