It usually starts with a quick phone screen (or a short chat with a manager) to confirm your availability, work authorization, and basic customer-service experience. After that, you’ll have one in-person interview at the store (sometimes with the store manager or an assistant manager). The interview itself is mostly a few behavioral questions—things like:
“Tell me about a time you handled a difficult customer.”
“How do you work under pressure during a rush?”
“Describe a time you worked as part of a team.”
They may also ask simple role-fit questions like why you want Starbucks, your comfort level with cleaning/safety routines, and your schedule flexibility. Overall, it’s easy, friendly, and short—mostly behavioral questions and that’s it.

I came in and they had me sit down at a table for a few minutes. The manager came over and introduced themself and shook my hand. They had me answer a series of questions. It lasted about 20 minutes in all. Asked general interview questions relating to my availability, ability to multitask, team player, open to helping cover shifts when needed, precious work experience, strengths and weaknesses, etc.
