Truthfully this is just like any other Food and Hospitality job with the same low wage. The only advantage is the easy access to health benefits, which is what I needed at the time of my application. They accept so many online applications that very very few will ever be looked at. The way to get this job is to come in dressed nicely and ask to see the actual store manager, not the shift manager. Don't bother talking to anyone else. You're best bet is to try weekday mornings around 9 am, especially Mondays. It might behoove you to know the manager's name ahead of time and to ask for them directly. Bring a resumé, enthusiasm and a big smile. Tell them you want to learn the coffee business, that you have wide open availability, ask if their location is hiring, and hand them your resumé. Availability is key. They will likely tell you to apply online, but if you have given them a good enough first impression they will actually go looking through the directory for you. Tell them that you will fill it out today if you haven't already and that they can find it at whatever time. Beyond that, there's nothing more you can really do other than to know someone who can vouch for you.

Received an email asking to schedule an interview for the following week. The interview took place in the store itself, and took about 15 minutes. The questions were pretty average.

First interview went well, just the basic behavioral questions that should be answered using the STAR method. Second interview was less questions but with the district manager. Still waiting to hear back (if they reach out at all).

Tell me about a time where you had to navigate a situation where the supervisor wasn’t available.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
