      Entrevista

I learned about the position when an HR rep (who I had spoken to months earlier) called me because my resume aligned with the skills required. Shortly after, I had a phone interview with the hiring managers - basic intro questions. I was then invited for an in person interview where I met with 5-6 VP or above level personnel within the Home Appliances business unit. All were incredibly personable and easy to talk to. They asked standard behavioral interview questions in order to better understand my experiences. After all the interviews, I was told that the team would get back to me within the week. And this is where the lack of professionalism, in my opinion, truly began. HR did indeed get back to me a few days later saying "Just wanted to ask you to hang tight….[ ] is very interested in moving forward with you. He just has a few things to iron out." That seemed quite promising so I patiently waited. After several days of no response, I reached out and was told that no decision had been made. Two weeks later I was told that they still wanted to interview another candidate. Two weeks after that, I was told that they still had to interview this candidate. Then the story was that an internal candidate was considering the role. Then he wasn't. Then it was down to me and another candidate. Then about 2 months after my original interview, I was told I had to interview again. (A mix of the same people and some more junior staff). About a month after this second interview, I finally received a verbal offer, after more tedious back and forth. After the HR rep called to offer me the position, she emailed me about salary expectations. This is when I learned that the offer was significantly below comps (low 80's) and below a competing offer I had recently received. HR made it clear that they could not offer significantly more. I informed the team that I wanted to understand the full offer before I made a decision as salary alone would not have been a deal breaker for me. The written offer never came (just an email saying, [ ] is out on vacation, sorry! ) even after informing them of my other deadline. About a week later I received a call, no VM. A few days later an email telling me that the team had decided to begin a new search. So after months of stringing me along, giving me false deadlines, having zero respect for my openingly communicated deadlines, and giving me a verbal offer, I ended up with no offer? Thank goodness I had a better offer somewhere else!
