      Entrevista para Junior Marketing Manager

      Solicitud

Me postulé en persona. El proceso tomó 5 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Power Home Remodeling (Atlanta, GA) en oct 2011

      Entrevista

Step 1 - I was contacted by recruiters, who for the most part, simply scheduled a time for me to interview. They, and I say "they", because 2 different recruiters contacted me, did not give me any really details about the company. One of the two, did at least ask me if I had any questions. I had already done my research so I thought I was prepared. Step 2 - My "BS Spider senses" began to go off when the 2 recruiters contacted me. In this economy, most recruiters do not have time to go behind one another. Plus neither of them asked any questions about my qualifications or desires. Well, my interview was with the VP of Marketing & Events (or some title of the nature). The VP was very professionally dressed and well spoken. However, he appeared to be no older than 25 years old. Now my "BS spider senses" are really going off. I know its possible for a VP to be young, especially at small firms, agencies, and start-ups. But I believed this company was to large to have such a young VP. Step 3 - I memorized the job description, had a copy with me, and aligned my skills / experience with what the job description said. I was as prepared as any interviewer out of work could be. Step 4 {the epic downfall} - The VP began with a few basic questions and then described the company (memorized script, but well articulated). He than began to ask questions the leaned towards "head hunter" type sales! .... note: I do not mind sales, But this was NOT in the job description. So I reviewed the job description while in the interview to make sure I was not wrong. I then asked him directly to give me the day to day expectations and duties. NOTHING HE SAID WAS ON THE JOB DESCRIPTION POSTED. I WAS CHECKING WITH THE PRINTED VERSION I HAD ON HAND WHILE HE WAS TELLING ME. I went in for a Jr. Marketing Manager position and he described a literally "door to door" sales position (WHICH WAS NOT LISTED ON THE JOB DESCRIPTION) I FELT SPAMMED, almost like fell for a bait and switch scheme. I ended the interview and left. I never wasted so much time in my life. If you decide to go on the interview, be alert to the job description they are offering you and make sure that is the job that you want to do. Good luck! P.S. I felt so spammed, that I would never even purchase their product
