I got a pre placement offer from Microsoft India when i was doing my internship there in May 2018. Once an IIT student gets a PPO from Microsoft he/she is eligible for on campus interview for Microsoft Redmond.
I had a 1:1 interview. The interviewer flew from Microsoft Redmond. I was asked 4 questions and the interview was about 1-1.5 hrs. He saw my CV and we discussed it, mostly projects. I was asked DS, Algo problems with average difficulty and i had to write the code on paper and 2 difficult problems on OS.

Entrevista
45 mins technical interview with a member of their San fran team. Very relaxed and informal but questions were focused and lots of follow ups. Easy to schedule as was over video conferencing platform
Straightforward technical loop overall, with strong interviewers at every stage. I genuinely enjoyed the in-depth conversations around technical challenges and algorithmic problem-solving — the entire process felt well-structured and genuinely engaging.
