Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Google (Mountain View, CA) en dic 2024

It started with a LinkedIn message to the recruiter, and I was lucky to learn my timing was right. He did initial phone screening to understand my background and interest in the role. Next was onsite (probably because the requirement was urgent idk) portfolio review and four 1:1s 45 mins each. Portfolio review is with the panel hiring managers and sr team members discussing past projects. My suggestion is to pick 1 project you're most confident on, and talk broad and high-level, be concise. Have a few other projects you can quickly wrap talking about. Pro tip: If you've got something interesting to show (motion, visuals, etc) make sure to spare some time out. They love creativity and also increases possibility of fitting into different projects. 1:1s are about design and tech skills around user research, testing, tools, prototyping, etc. Also, a dedicated discussion around Googleyness and behavioral in the end. I checked blind, reddit, and glassdoor to understand the process and was referred to Prepfully for mocks on blind. Got a really good ex Google coach who helped me a lot. Received a phone call from the recruiter a week later and accepted the offer very same day.

How would you design of Google Pay if we changed the target audience group to people aged above 50?
I did one round of a recruiter interview and moved on to a portfolio review. The recruiter interview was just walking me through the interview process, which I'm going thru and the portfolio interview was with the hiring manager.

I was moved along the process really fast, the only slowdown I experienced was with the scheduling team (def not the most efficient or responsive, so be ready to be patient with them)
That said, the hiring team and recruiters were really good at keeping things moving. I heard back the morning of the next working day after my initial hiring manager call, and was notified that I was moving to the offer stage less than 20 hours after completing my final round.
Overall, a fast, well-run interview process once the interviews themselves started.

The interview process was very pleasant. I had the opportunity to meet with a few team members, and the questions asked were insightful. They really took the time to understand my background, and I felt that the interviewers were genuinely interested in my experience and how it aligned with the team's needs. The process was smooth, and they provided great feedback along the way.
