Unfortunately- this has turned out to be a complete waste of my time... I have applied online via company's website and I have received an email from internal Talen team quiet quickly. We had a good discussion about role specification, my salary expectations and general interviewing process. I was initially quiet surprise this company asks for a 5h long panel interview, but I thought, let's try it, and went ahead with next stages. Questions varied from stage to stage, but all together- they were all adequate to role itself and level of seniority. I was however surprised when told by the interviewing during technical coding stage (for this role - SQL only), that he is absolutely happy to just see pseudocode, as my thought process is the most important part of this interview. I was surprised, and decided to simply wrote queries as of I would normally. This comes relevant at a later stage as I have been couple of days later informed that team liked me, they want to make me an offer, however in their opinion my coding abilities were lesser than whats expected on senior level... I was shocked as I proposed a sub query (which worked as expexted), while being told they were looking for HAVING statement in there... OK? You cannot have it both ways - you either make it clear that you want this query to run without a use of sub query or you are actually looking for any working solution. Also - why to mention multiple times that pseudocode is all you are after??? I have indeed received an offer.... £25k lower than what I have mentioned during my very first conversation with Talent Acquisition person.... how can you justify ignoring candidates financial expectations and dragging them through 5h of panel interview, look for a mediocre reason to "downgrade" their level and then offer them £ which is so much lower than your budget??? You have wasted my time, you have wasted your own engineerings time... very disappointing behaviour on your end.

Pretty bad experience. They didn't even have the courtesy to send out a rejection email after an onsite interview. I was reached out by a recruiter on LinkedIn. After the HR round, he scheduled my interview with the hiring manager and then a virtual onsite of 3 hours with 4 people in the team. The recruiter was initially nice though, but after the final round, they ghosted me. Even when I sent out emails to follow-up on the status, I never got any response back and it's been more than 8 months.
