I think that employers would like to know about my great medical knowledge & writing skills. I'm a Medical Doctor, also a clinical Pharmacologist, means that I've much more ability for medical writing, as a scientist that has two international papers.

I received a phone call from the direct supervisor that I'd be working under. I was asked several questions about my writing experience, and even though I had a good bit of technical writing experience they still wanted the additional certifications (which seem like a superfluous added expense).
