Going into the process had a fairly good feeling, but definitely didnt end well. Did the initial ph screen w recruiter, then moved onto video call w someone on the team, which then went to on-site. On-site was the usual one-by-one rigorous process, it began with a technical white board type, 1.5hrs which is longer than usual (45 min) , then moved onto verbal technical and personality assessments with other people.
I was told and led to believe after the on-site that things were moving forward, and looked positive, they then asked me to do another round 2 weeks later. Mind you this was after numerous back and forth communication. Finally, after four weeks into the process I was told they want someone more senior. I had made my level clear verbally from the beginning, so this was really frustrating.
A candidate deserves clear communication in the process. Interviewing is tiring enough. They should have been clear about the level of experience they wanted in the beginning, and not lead candidates on.
