Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Anaplan (San Francisco, CA)

The interview process is not good. One of the managers was working from home and during the video demo he was giving, there was exceptionally loud noise of people partying in the house. It did not seem very professional. I could barely hear parts of the demo. The demo itself was subpar as I was told, oh I cannot touch this on the screen, I cannot touch that on the screen because this is someone else's setup or data, etc. Pretty awkward that a demo is being given during the interview with such caveats.
The demo was already given during the interview process on-site but later they again wanted to do the same demo(from the same person) on a short notice. It was not clear if it was intentional or they lose track of what was covered in the interview. So the demo was given twice each time with the same setup excuse.
Even after the verbal phone offer(and after I quoted my numbers), the company suddenly wanted to do one more round of interview before making a formal written offer which is pretty odd.
The process had multiple hiccups, initially as a final round their VP wanted to interview, but suddenly the HR interviewed first and it was told that VP won't interview. And as I shared above, after I quoted the salary expectation numbers after the verbal offer, the VP suddenly wanted to interview.
Did not proceed finally. Recruiter started asking for an exact number on the salary to put in the offer without giving details of the bonus percentage, or equity but still forcing the candidate to quote a number on the base was very strange. When asked what will be the bonus percentage "x%" or "y%", since it would have been one or the other in the written offer, the answer was it will be one or the other but cannot be told. The interview was not difficult at all. Very easy questions. Much easier than many other bay area company interviews. I tick marked here that I did not get the offer because it was grey area. I had the verbal offer but the way things went on both sides and the interview experience, it was not a good match on either side.

While my engagement with the recruiters and technical team was exceptionally high quality and aligned with Anaplan values, the final leadership with Gurgaon Head round revealed a significant cultural discrepancy. A senior-level partnership requires mutual transparency and institutional trust; however, the insistence on a commitment without reciprocal disclosure of the offer framework, combined with inquiries rooted in mistrust, suggests a leadership style that may not fully leverage or respect the talent the team is working so hard to recruit.

Very smooth and well organized process. Tina (Anaplan's recruiter) was the best recruiter I worked with during this job search. No delays with scheduling interviews and they provide feedback next day after each step.
