CNC Methods Engineer will be in charge to:
Develop and validate CNC programs.
Plan and specify CNC purchases necessary to complain drawing and specification requirements
Responsible for the performance of CNC manufacturing processes.
Conduct training CNC programming as needed
Ensure the means of collecting and distributing compiled information in order to improve quality
Read and interpret drawings and other quality control requirements using GD&T
Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations
Drive Lean effort within manufacturing focusing on Quality
Support and lead projects undertaken by the Engineering team in a CNC Programming and methodology capacity
Evaluate new manufacturing technologies as they develop and present findings and recommendations to Codir managers.
This individual must be a motivated, self-starter that can learn on the fly and take ownership of their tasks and production processes.
Possess the ability to affectively create complex CNC programs for a variety of CNC's, 4 and 5 Axis.
Detailed analysis of CMM and manual control reports for all applicable features based on drawings.
Perform Machine Setups and Trials for Development Projects as necessary.
Create Process Sheets that clearly define Process Formats and Procedures as necessary.
Provide support to machine operators and training to CNC programmers as necessary.
Identify improvement opportunities in CNC programming.
Identify improvement opportunities in the time per part (labor and cycle time)
Possess ability to effectively understand and/or modify created CNC macro programs.
Work with Outside Service providers as needed to support Business Unit needs
Analyze and document current manufacturing/measurement methods to clearly understand the manufacturing/ measurement processes used.
Present solutions/recommendations to Business Units for capital equipment purchases.
Investigate current and developing technologies for improvements in future manufacturing/measurement methods
Audit manufacturing/measurement methods & equipment to ensure global alignment between business units.
Manage capital equipment purchases by preparing ROI's and CAPEX, and furthermore managing the suppliers throughout the complete cycle from machine quotations to machine installations
Communicate with suppliers in a manner that helps achieve business needs
Develop presentations and/or documentation to allow for clear understanding of projects to SAFRAN colleagues
Knowledge, skills and abilities in CNC programming language using G code, HyperMill, NCSimul, CATIA V5, Siemens 840D sl, Fanuc 30i, Makino Pro6, MAPPS IV, IMS Postprocessor, iCAM Postprocessor.
Knowledge, skills and abilities in Tool presetters, Shrink Fit machines, Tool balancer, Chip Balluff.
Strong experience in machining materials such as titanium, aluminum, carbon fiber and inconel.
Knowledge, skills and abilities in CMM measurement reports analysis.
Must have shop floor experience and intimate knowledge of CNC capability and functionality.
Ability to higher mathematics and competent in complex trigonometry.
Able to propose tools or changes to methods for calculating dimensional chains.
Effective problem-solving skills for job related issues and root cause corrective action.
Ability to meet job and customer requirements
Ability to follow quality system requirements
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilities, maintaining professional interaction with coworkers and any other representatives external or otherwise required
Ability to act and think analytically with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to correctly read and interpret technical data.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques with ability to design robust process to eliminate waste required.
Experience with Top Solid, Vericut, GOM Inspect, Solisworks, 3D Experience and 3D Printing.
