About this opportunity

Hours:
This is a part-time, fixed-term position working 3 days (15 hours) per week.

Seasonal Fixed Term Contract:

Commencing from 1st June 2026 to November 2026 (annualised 330 hours)

Because the role is seasonal, operational demand reduces during the quieter winter months. This means fewer hours may be available at that time (and occasionally no scheduled shifts).

Flexibility is therefore essential, with most hours expected during our busier periods.

There may also be opportunities to pick up extra hours by providing holiday cover, subject to business needs.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be in a key customer-facing position across our cafés, ticket offices and retail outlets. While each role has a primary focus and regular place of work, everyone is trained across the commercial operation—so a positive, flexible approach is important.

As part of our Commercial Team, you’ll help us deliver a warm welcome and a smooth, professional experience that visitors will remember.

You’ll receive training and support in:

• Customer-facing service in busy visitor environments
• Food hygiene and health & safety training
• Training on our ticketing system
• Retail sales across our outlets
• Flexibility to move between café, ticket office, and retail roles when required

Primary role areas
Café roles (Dalegarth):

• Serving customers food and drinks
• Providing friendly, efficient service
• No food preparation required

Ticket office / retail roles (Ravenglass):

• Selling tickets and assisting with self-service ticketing
• Answering customer queries and providing local information
• Selling retail items in our shops

What we’re looking for

• A friendly, approachable manner
• Confidence dealing with customers
• Willingness to learn new skills and work across different areas
• Reliability and flexibility
• Previous customer service experience is helpful, but not essential

Important information
Due to the location of Ravenglass and Dalegarth, you’ll need to be able to travel to site using your own transport, as public transport cannot be relied upon.
