Six years ago, Jennifer K. moved to Pittsburgh from Long Beach, California without family, friends, or a job in the area. This month, she was able to look back with appreciation on the big leap that she took, as she celebrated five years of working at UPMC! Inspired by the many local law enforcement officers in her family, Rachal C.'s lifelong interest in helping people led her to a career of compassion and care as a forensic nursing coordinator and sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE). “The best days that I’ve had as a forensic nurse have been helping get the convictions in court, knowing that my testimony made a difference. [Being] able to get justice for victims is the most rewarding feeling I’ve ever had.”
