At Sonnedix, we’ve launched Tech Fluency Weekly! A learning initiative helping our teams build confidence with AI and digital tools in practical, day-to-day ways. As our Chief of People, Stephen Taylor, shared: “As technology evolves, building fluency is becoming less about keeping pace with new tools, and more about creating practical, low-pressure ways for people to engage with them.” Each week, we share practical resources focused on real use cases, from improving prompting skills to collaborating more effectively with new tools. This reflects our commitment to continuous learning and upskilling across the business, helping people grow their skills and build future-ready careers with us. 🤝
Sonnedix launched its Life Saving Rules, reinforcing our commitment to preventing Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIF) across all operations. Focused on high-risk activities, the rules set clear expectations and non-negotiable controls to protect our people and strengthen a proactive safety culture. More than a policy, this is a mindset shift centred on critical risk management, collaboration and accountability across Sonnedix and our supply chain. Great to see strong engagement and practical discussions across our teams this week. 🦺

Celebrating Pride at Sonnedix 🏳️🌈 Our OneTeam having been coming together throughout this month to celebrate Pride, and to reflect on our collective responsibility to foster a culture of support and inclusivity. Our global offices hosted a variety of events and activities including quizzes, story sharing, education corners, and guest talks to raise awareness, encourage conversation, and deepen understanding. Embracing diversity empowers us to cultivate a workplace culture where every voice is valued, respected, and heard. That’s why last year we launched our DEI 2024-2030 Manifesto, committing ourselves to continued improvement in all areas of DEI, including building awareness around LGBTQ+. Pride Month is an opportunity for us to listen, reflect, and grow together as OneTeam. Thank you to everyone who made these events possible and to our brilliant team for showing their support 🌈
Inaugurating our largest solar PV plant in Europe to date: Project Douro! Located in Tarouca, at the heart of Portugal’s Douro Valley, this 150MW solar plant marks a major milestone in Sonnedix’s Iberian growth. 🌍 Accelerating Portugal’s energy transition: Now complete, the Sonnedix Douro project will generate approximately 230 GWh of clean energy, capable of powering 76,000 Portuguese homes and avoiding 82,000 metric tons of CO2e annually. ⚡Powering the digital future: The plant supports a 10-year PPA with digital infrastructure leader Equinix, reinforcing Sonnedix’s role in powering the growing digital economy. 🔋 Platform for expansion: With access to the Valdigem substation, our team is already working on hybridising the plant, - combining solar, wind, and battery storage solutions - on a site that’s perfectly set up for it. 📈 Accelerated growth in Portugal: In just two years, we’ve built over 400MW of controlled capacity, with another 200MW under construction, on track to double our operating capacity in the country by year-end. The inauguration ceremony took place in Vila Chã da Beira, where local and regional authorities, key partners, and members of our executive team came together to celebrate this key achievement. Thank you to all our OneTeam colleagues and partners who helped bring this milestone to life!

🌿 Decarbonising our Operational Sites with Autonomous Robots At Sonnedix, we are aiming to replace fossil fuel-powered machinery, with innovative, low-carbon solutions in some of our sites. 🤖 Vitirovers are solar-powered, autonomous robotic mowers aimed at sustainable vegetation management. The robot moves independently, guided by an integrated GPS system, but it can also be operated manually. It is capable of mowing areas of up to one hectare within approximately ten days. Equipped with a solar panel, the robot can operate autonomously for six hours! By using this new machinery at our Lavansol M8 plant in Saint-Etienne des Sorts, we are transforming operations to support a cleaner future. A testament to our commitment to achieving Net Zero and using eco-friendly vegetation management across our operations.
