Every major project is held up by four critical pillars: schedule, quality, cost and safety. If one slips, the others start to crack. Kent’s PMC approach keeps all four strong. With constant performance checks, transparent reporting and a culture of accountability, we make sure every pillar holds firm. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is a critical piece of the decarbonisation puzzle, but scaling production beyond HEFA technology remains a challenge. From volatile feedstock markets to complex certification hurdles, investment in SAF needs a fresh approach. In his latest article, Matthew Wills breaks down the key barriers and explores how industry collaboration and government support can accelerate progress. Kent is working on the Pre-FEED for Eq.flight, an advanced power-to-liquids (PtL) Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) demonstration plant, following the project’s successful funding award through the UK Department for Transport’s Advanced Fuels Fund. Working alongside Equilibrion and consortium partners, Kent is delivering the engineering design for a highly integrated PtL pathway. The project aims to produce drop-in SAF with the potential to achieve more than 90% lifecycle emissions reduction compared to conventional jet fuel. This collaboration reflects Kent’s growing role in building end-to-end low-carbon value chains: aligning technology, policy and engineering capability to help turn scalable SAF production into commercial reality.
Kent has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nesma High Training Institute (NHTI), the vocational and professional training arm of Nesma & Partners, to advance industry-driven workforce development across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The collaboration brings together Kent’s global expertise in engineering, commissioning and leadership development with NHTI’s established training platform to design and deliver accredited technical and vocational programmes aligned with both local and international standards. Together, the partnership will strengthen workforce capability, enhance training infrastructure, and create a structured knowledge transfer that supports long-term institutional growth while developing national talent. Process Safety Management (PSM) is often viewed through the lens of compliance. But when done well, it becomes something far more powerful. In his latest thought leadership article, Colin Crowley explores how effective PSM goes beyond box-ticking to turn uncertainty into structure, supports better decision-making under pressure, and strengthens safety culture from the inside out. He argues that the true value of PSM lies not just in preventing major incidents, but in building disciplined systems, habits, and behaviours that help teams operate every day. Commissioning is often treated as the final checkpoint in a project: reactive, compressed, and under pressure. At Kent, we believe it should be a driver of certainty from the very start. By integrating commissioning thinking early and enabling it through digital solutions like CommissionAbility™, we help validate data upfront, reduce rework, minimise schedule risk and give teams confidence on site through verified drawings and structured information. In this thought leadership article, Andres Mesa shares how Kent is transforming commissioning in the field, from early engagement and smarter loop testing to integrated collaboration and data-led execution.
In a recent webinar with Ohmium, Matthew Wills explored how modular electrolyser technology and disciplined EPC delivery can work together to simplify project development and improve certainty from design through to deployment. Matthew explains how Kent’s front-end focus, modular execution strategies and industry-leading technical safety analysis combines to help reduce risk, accelerate delivery and manage increasing project complexity at scale.
