WindEurope 2025 is in full swing – and it’s already been an exciting few days of insight, connection, and collaboration across the offshore wind industry. Yesterday, our Principal Engineer Graham Holden spoke on reducing jacket transportation fatigue damage conservatism through time-domain analysis. His session sparked some brilliant conversations on designing offshore wind infrastructure that’s both smarter and safer. Our team will be on site for the next few days, sharing how we’re supporting the next generation of wind projects with deep offshore expertise and practical engineering. Come and say hello at stand D-B22 – we’d love to meet you. Explore how we're making waves in offshore wind on our website.
📣 We’ve just published our UK Gender Pay Gap Report 2024, and we’re proud to share the progress we’ve made since last year—while staying clear-eyed about the work ahead. ✅ Median pay gap down from 22.9% to 20.1% ✅ Mean pay gap down from 21.3% to 17.1% This is satisfying progress—and a reflection of the intentional work happening across our teams. However, our overall gender split still doesn’t reflect the same momentum. While it remains broadly aligned with the wider industry, we know change here is essential—and we’ll continue to champion the efforts needed to make it happen. Read the full report on our website.
🔋 Turning excess wind power into clean, storable energy. This latest thought leadership piece from Kerry Hunter explores how renewable hydrogen from surplus wind energy can be the key to a resilient, decarbonised energy grid. With the UK aiming for 10 GW of low-carbon hydrogen production capacity by 2030, there's an urgent need to bridge gaps in transmission, storage, and hydrogen production infrastructure. At Kent, we're proud to be contributing to this transformative journey. From conceptual studies to EPC, our expertise is helping build the UK’s hydrogen future. Read more about how we’re unlocking the potential of renewable hydrogen on our website.

🌟 What does 18 years without a recordable OSHA incident really mean? It means showing up every day with a “Nobody Gets Hurt” mindset. It means pushing through challenges, while keeping safety at the heart of everything we do. Our Beaumont Operations team has reached an incredible milestone: 18 years without a recordable injury. That’s nearly two decades of proving that safety and operational excellence go hand in hand. Working alongside ExxonMobil, the team delivers engineering, commissioning, construction management, and technical support services, never compromising on what matters most—operational excellence, with safety at the core. Join us in celebrating this achievement and the people behind it. Here’s to raising the bar for safety, every single day. 👏
Kent has been awarded a place on the UK government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) ENZPS Framework to support the country’s energy transition. Valued at up to £250 million, this framework will see Kent providing strategic advisory, engineering expertise, project management, and environmental advisory to help accelerate the UK’s path to net zero. We look forward to bringing our advanced digital solutions and expertise to support DESNZ’s critical mission of creating a sustainable, resilient energy future.
In our line of work, we’ve seen it all. Projects that should fly, but don’t. Promising opportunities that stall before they even get started. In his latest article, Usman Darr, our UK Director of Engineering hits the nail on the head: the FEED stage is where too many good projects go off-track. - Misaligned objectives - Incomplete scopes - Underestimated risks - And chasing lowest-cost over best value At Kent, we believe the solution lies in integrated thinking from day one — building the right team early, prioritising value over cost, and keeping sustainability at the core. 🧠 Read the full article for practical ways to avoid these pitfalls and get your project off the ground with confidence.
At Kent, we are designing and delivering the world's decarbonisation roadmap. We’ve led some of the most ambitious CCUS projects around the world; including developing the decarbonisation backbone for the UK east coast with the Viking Carbon Capture. We engineered and executed the world’s first commercial-scale carbon capture facility on a power plant, Boundary Dam 3, in Canada, and the assessment and selection of low carbon and carbon capture technology for the UK’s leading industrial decarbonisation development, HyNet North West.
We’re proud to play a key role in delivering the Wormington Compressor Station project in Gloucestershire — a critical step towards improving the resilience and sustainability of the UK’s gas network. Working alongside United Living Group Infrastructure Services and National Gas, Kent will lead the engineering design and execution of a new, lower-emission 15MW gas turbine-driven compressor, supporting the UK’s energy security and transition goals. Our expertise in sustainable infrastructure will help ensure that this vital facility is future-ready, efficient, and aligned with national decarbonisation objectives.
The energy transition is picking up speed, and offshore wind is leading the charge. 🌊 From 8-10 April, we’ll be at WindEurope in Copenhagen, sharing how we’re helping clients design, optimise, and deliver offshore wind projects worldwide. With a track record of 50GW+ of offshore wind projects supported to date, we bring deep expertise in foundations, grid connection, digital solutions, and full lifecycle engineering—turning ambitious targets into reality. On Tuesday, 8 April, Graham Holden, Principal Engineer, will take the stage to present on reducing jacket transportation fatigue damage conservatism using a time-domain analysis approach—a key topic for improving the efficiency and reliability of offshore wind structures. Learn how our team will be shaping the future of wind at this year's event on our website.
