With EconiQ®, we continue to redefine what’s possible in high voltage! Last week at IEEE in Chicago, we showcased the world’s first 800 kV dead tank circuit breaker (DTB), introduced a new DTB designed for 420 kV 80 kA application, alongside our newly updated EconiQ high‑voltage roadmap. This is a big moment for the grid. Big ideas, real solutions, and SF₆‑free technology that’s reliable, scalable, and delivers the lowest carbon footprint — exactly what the future of energy demands.

Last week, we welcomed Hitachi Energy’s new CEO, Andreas Schierenbeck, as previously announced in our press release in early March. To ensure a smooth transition, Claudio Facchin has for the last couple of months, spent time together with Andreas visiting factories and meeting with customers, partners, academia, educational institutions, government representatives and our Hitachi Energy employees and Hitachi colleagues. Claudio is handing over the leadership of Hitachi Energy to Andreas after more than a decade in Executive Team roles within the energy sector and the power grids industry. More than 45,000 Hitachi Energy employees across the world extended their gratitude and warmness to an extraordinary CEO who has built up Hitachi Energy from scratch and been leading diverse teams across the globe through days with sunshine and days with stormy weather. Regardless of the environment, the focus has always been on customers, partners, people and innovation. Now, in the next phase that begins, we will together with Andreas continue to support our customers, partners and other stakeholders, as we are advancing the world’s energy system to be more sustainable, flexible and secure.
"These investments will enable the company to meet customers' commitments and market demand, increasing its global R&D, engineering and manufacturing capacity of transformers, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and high-voltage products."
