The Metropolitan Transportation Authority-operated Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is undertaking the transformational Eastbound Re-Route (EBRR) at the Harold and F Interlockings, two of the nation’s busiest rail junctions. When complete, Amtrak trains will seamlessly bypass LIRR trains entering Harold Interlocking, improving speed and efficiency for travelers departing from Penn Station. This game-changing project brings major improvements: 🛤 New tracks, signals, switches, communications, and power systems to enhance reliability. ⏳ A state-of-the-art cut-and-cover tunnel and grade-separated crossover to reduce delays. This modernization will create smoother, faster travel and support new train service to Grand Central Terminal. We’re proud to contribute our expertise to this vital transportation project!
