Watch swarms of “ant-like” robots lift heavy objects and hurl themselves over obstacles! 🐜 Scientists developed magnetic microrobot swarms that mimic ant-like teamwork. Research published in Elsevier's journal, Device by Cell Press, shows how these tiny robots can lift, transport, and guide objects many times their size, offering new possibilities for medicine and engineering. Using a rotating magnetic field, the swarms self-assemble to tackle challenging tasks. In one experiment, a swarm unclogged tube-like structures resembling blood vessels, while another transported cargo 350 times heavier than a single robot.
