Tomorrow, Coalfire will be closed in honor of a pivotal moment in American history - Juneteenth. 💡 Did you know? On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the end of slavery. It was the day that freedom finally reached the last enslaved people in the United States. Juneteenth is more than a celebration of freedom. It’s a recognition of delayed justice. It’s a reminder that liberation is not always immediate, or equitable. And It’s a call to continue the work of building a more inclusive, equitable future. This week, our employee resource group BECOMING (Black Employees in Cybersecurity Obtaining Mentorship, Influence, Networking and Growth) is leading the celebration, sharing perspectives, knowledge, and resources.
