This week we are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week. With skills gaps being one of the biggest threats to the industry, one of the ways in which we work to protect the future of our services is through learning and development. Over the last fiscal year, we have supported 67 apprentices across both technical and non-technical areas to support their career development. Michael Ridgett, our Learning and Development Director, said: “Having the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to do a job well are important. Apprenticeships are one of the best opportunities to put these learnings into practice. Whether it is supporting new apprentices into our organisation or upskilling existing colleagues, apprenticeships are an integral part of our L&D strategy.”
At Arcus, we believe in thanking our colleagues for their hard work. This is why we have our Going the Extra Mile (GEM) awards. Sometimes a 'thank you' by itself doesn't feel quite enough and that's why our colleagues can nominate each other to receive an e-gift voucher to show their appreciation. So far this fiscal year, we have given out 592 vouchers to our people and we look forward to giving out more.
