Joining Voodoo is probably one of the professional decisions I regret the most. Like many people, I was attracted by the company's image, ambitious vision, and constant talk about talent, ownership, culture, and values. The reality I experienced was completely different. The culture and values that are promoted so heavily simply did not exist in my day-to-day experience. What mattered was performance, metrics, and short-term results. Everything else felt secondary. The work environment often felt driven by short-term results rather than collaboration, trust, or long-term team development. Processes were inconsistent, priorities changed frequently, and it was difficult to feel that employee well-being was genuinely valued. The atmosphere often felt driven by fear and guilt rather than trust. There was constant pressure to deliver more, and working late, putting in extra hours, or even working weekends gradually became normalized. Instead of feeling motivated, many people seemed afraid of falling behind or disappointing leadership. I also found the overall work ethic and leadership approach frustrating. Decisions often felt reactive rather than strategic, and people were expected to adapt to constantly changing priorities without adequate support or direction. Based on my personal experience, this is not a company I would recommend. There are many other studios that offer healthier cultures, stronger leadership, and a more positive environment for professional growth. I wish someone had told me what working there was actually like before I accepted the offer. It would have saved me a great deal of time, energy, and disappointment.
