      Entrevista

I at the moment of application was a junior dev with little experience and I applied for the Backend Developer position. Although the job description seemed like for a senior member, I nevertheless applied for it in the hope that they might look for a junior dev as well. I get a mail for inital call from the HR. The call was with the team lead. Call was related to motivation and little background check about CI/CD. During the call I got an impression, that person I am speaking to has not even read my CV and he was looking for a senior dev. Then, I was given a task (Spring boot api). It was standard problem for which I gave a decent solution. My code was inspected by two of their developers. After a week, I get a rejection. I asked for the feedback and they had a very nice feedback ready. The cause of rejection was my lack of knowledge of Docker and AWS and they said I am on a junior level on these topics. How can I be on a junior level on particular topics when I am just a junior dev as a whole. To add to this my CV never had Docker or AWS in skills section. Neither the team lead communicated that he needs these things in the solution for which he apologized as well. It was clear misinterpretation of my CV and also a mismatch of expectations. Nobody bothered reading the CV carefully.

      Entrevista

I applied online and was then contacted by the recruiter to schedule the first call with a Team Lead. I spoke with the Team Lead over Skype, he was a nice guy, the conversation was mainly about my experience and motivation. This was followed by a technical challenge, a Spring Boot application. Once I submitted the technical challenge, another interview was scheduled with 2 Developers. The conversation was nice, except for the question related to Reactive Stack with Spring Boot 2.0. I am not very familiar with reactive Java, I couldn't answer so well. Now, it's more than 2 weeks after this discussion, both HR and Team Lead are unresponsive. IMHO, good companies always do follow up, doesn't matter if it's negative or positive.
