      Entrevista

I applied for the position 2,5 months ago after thoughtful consideration and I was very eager to have an IV with them. After a long wait of 2,5 months the recruiter contacted me and we scheduled the Interview Since the very beginning the Recruiter was very stressed, she dedicated almost 5 minutes to do her pitch about the company, she asked me twice If I had any questions, then she decided by herself to go through the Job description and tell me that the previous person was not a cultural fit and when she finally stopped talking, it was my time to ask the questions, since there was NO structure or the standard 1st interview approach if “tell me a few things about your current role etc” From my 1st question which was about the local entity and its integration to the group, the hierarchy and the structure she was very defensive and she just told me that she can’t remember the exact structure or how the entity operates because they have brands in many locations and she cannot be aware of all 60+ brands. At some point during her speech, she mentioned a key HR tool and component as part of the role’s responsibility. However, she was again unable to provide specific information regarding the workflows and the tool, using again an excuse such as “I m just a recruiter and this is a screening interview”. 13-16 mins were consumed without getting us anywhere, the meeting lagged and the connection was lost. I immediately tried to reconnect, no luck. I have fiber at my place, I had great connection so it seemed really weird She called me 3 mins before the end of our meet to tell me that “I left from the IV” and that she will e mail me later because she had another call An hour later I received an e mail stating that “they declined not to proceed (…)” Honestly after 15 years of working experience I was totally disappointed from the lack of professionalism of the recruiter and of the company that trusted the selection of such a vital role to a stressed, clueless and anapologetic person. Having managed Recruitment teams myself, IVs for senior roles must have a structure, the recruiter takes the lead since it is his/her time with the candidate to do a satisfactory screening, is prepared to answer to all the questions related to the JD and the structure of the organisation. It was definitely the most disappointing half screening I ve ever had, no efforts for rescheduling from the recruiter’s side, she was exposed for her poor work and she literally got rid of me. It is fine though because it tells a lot of the culture if the company, of their Recruitment and HR processes and of the knowledge they don’t share between them Plus, you can’t have a screening for a managerial role within a 25-39 mins slot and have the recruiter speaking for the company profile and for irrelevant information without being able to lead a structured conversation and on top of that to drop the connection
