I had a lot of respect for the company. But after the first interview, I had a really bitter taste in my mouth. All the questions that were asked were appropriate and valid, but I sensed I wish they were a bit more cordial and friendly.
They grilled every bit of my resume, which is fair, and their right, but it seemed like they cared about finding faults in my resume rather than learning more about me as a human, and as a potential candidate.
I was hurt, because I felt very intimidated and unwelcomed. This is a strong company, but treat candidates with care so they can shine, and show their experience and worth better. You will lose great candidates when you do not offer a smile in the interview.
Every company they asked who I reported to, how many people were on my team, what was the structure, what were the goals. Every single one, even for ones that I worked for 10 years ago.
Thank you for the interview, I wish the best, but please, be more kind to candidates and actually look for their strengths rather than finding their faults, and make them feel demoralized.
All the best.
