      Entrevista

The interview process was disorganized and prolonged, with poor communication at each stage regarding the status of my application. From the initial application to the final decision, the process took over two months, which was an unusually long timeframe. The first interview primarily consisted of a reverse chronological review of my resume, with the interviewer asking me to walk through each role leading up to my most recent position. While somewhat redundant, this provided an opportunity to expand on details not included in my resume and offer additional context on accomplishments. Following the initial interview, several weeks passed without any communication. Eventually, I was asked to provide references, which I submitted promptly. However, there was no follow-up regarding the status of the reference check, which is atypical—employers usually provide updates on background checks and references. After another few weeks, I was contacted to schedule a second interview, but no details were provided about the format or the individuals who would be attending. The second interview involved two additional team members and once again focused on reviewing my resume in reverse chronological order. This repetition added little value. The remainder of the interview consisted of casual conversation, seemingly aimed at assessing cultural fit. It became apparent that I was not well-received, as there was a noticeable disconnect between the two additional interviewers and the initial interviewer. There was a strong sense that the company was seeking a candidate who closely aligned with the team in terms of appearance and cultural background. The initial interviewer also mentioned that another candidate was being considered, which was an unusual remark to make during the process. Despite being told a decision would be made by the end of the week, it took an additional two weeks to receive a final response. Ultimately, the selected candidate bore a striking resemblance to the initial interviewer and one of the other team members in terms of age, ethnicity, and overall appearance. Notably, this candidate had less education as well as both less horizontal and vertical work experience than I did. I leave that observation for consideration.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Where do you see yourself professionally in five years? Can you tell me about yourself? What do you enjoy doing outside of work? How can we be sure you will remain with the company if hired? What motivates you to stay at a company? What factors would lead you to leave a company? Throughout both interviews, there were no definitive technical questions, indicating that the primary concern was retention rather than professional growth or technical proficiency.
