      Entrevista

      The process was quite different from I saw in other companies through the years. No grilling, no strange trivia questions, just good conversation about details of previous jobs and projects I've been working on. After two rounds of that I was asked to solve an interesting problem at my own pace at home and then I received an offer. Everything was professional and clearly communicated. Polish recruitment team was definitely up to the task.

      Backwards.. 1. Phone screen with recruiter. 2. Technical Interview with a Senior Lead. 3. 2 hour interview (1 hour get to know you, 1 hour technical). Received very good feedback on all 3 interviews. Was then asked to build a bowling game api with an angular FE to interact with it. Then upload to github and put together good documentation for running and debugging the app. 4. Asked to join a final interview, expecting to either receive praise or constructive feedback from the assignment. Instead I was greeted by a regional director saying "So I dont know if you received feedback on your assessment, the guys said it was *dramatic pause* fine. Ask them for feedback, maybe you learn something"... I was expecting to have an interview where we talked about what I did and improvements I could make. Instead, spent an hour answering the exact same questions I was asked in the first few rounds. I admit I might have gotten a bit snappy towards the end as the 10s of hours I had put into the application seemed to be turning into a complete waste of time. Asked about benefits, was told "we give paid sick leave, paid annual leave and paid paternity leave". They just needed to add "on premises toilets" and that would make them the perfect company. After the interview, I emailed the recruiter and asked for the assignment feedback that I was told to ask for. She ghosted me and the next week finally came back to say "sorry, while your expertise would be beneficial to our company, unfortunately you are not the right fit for the position" A complete waste of time, probably spent over 30 hours on this application for them to only, at the last minute, start looking at whether I am a good fit for the job... What a joke! Learn to value other people's time.

      Mostly theoretical and hypothetical questions. Theory: What is a race condition? Hypothetical: What do you think the biggest challenge you will face when starting at dotdigital (this is a trick question, there can never be value in answering this honestly, tell them what they want to hear!)
