Had a call with a recruiter, which was far and away the most professional part of the interview. Shortly after I came in for in person interviews, which consisted of: 1) a conversation that had nothing to do with anything relevant 2) a mock email which seemed to be testing my grammar 3) a mock call with a client that reviewed a super simple process 4) a rushed conversation Expect the interviewers to be rushed and seemingly bored to be there.

Phone interview with recruiter was conversation-style and lasted 30 minutes. They looped a coordinator in to schedule an onsite a week later. They subsequently changed the day and time, 3 different times at the last minute. I finally met with the hiring manager and HR. Both conversations were extremely brief, (30 minutes each). There was a clear disconnect between what the recruiter had conveyed about the role and what the hiring manager and HR were looking for. I sent my thank you and recruiter said she'd be in touch at the end of the week. Never heard back from them. Given that Zenefits is failing, I was completely shocked at their horrid candidate experience and lack of follow through. As a candidate and entertaining them and the position itself, I was trying to be fair. It was clear that the hiring manager as well as HR had absolutely no idea what the future would hold for Zenefits and there was zero transparency from the executive team. Horrible experience!
