I was contacted by the Zendesk recruiter over Linkedin. They setup an interview for me on site after a phone screening with the team lead. Was asked the usual skill questions, "how do you rate yourself on ruby/bash" etc. The onsite interview was about 4 hours. I met with 4 different groups from the tools and devops team. Basic questions like "write me a filesytem monitor in bash". Architecture questions for scaling MySQL over multiple datacenters. Write a Chef recipe from scratch. Parse XML in ruby. Once the technical interviews were over I met with a directory who pretty much laid out the fact they would be making me an offer. I had the offer the very next day.
