Careful before Zalando wastes your time! The first interview went very well we discussed the job details and my motivation. Then the next task was to fulfill an programming task which consisted of writing an parser and some business logic. It was pointed out to put a lot of effort in testing and the edge cases. Therefore it was a quite time consuming task. Which took a good weekend to fulfill. The third step was another video interview, which I did not pass for a not very believable reason (they don't have enough senior enough or management/leadership oriented roles - even tough they were searching for a Senior Software Developer). But that is not why I leave a negative critic. The negative review is for the process in total and how Zalando wastes the time of the applicants. To ask for such an time intensive test before having at least the most basic interviews to decide if they have the roles or not is not acceptable. In addition to that, I asked for a feedback for my work they made me do and I did not receive any answer on that. I suppose they did not check it because the fourth interview step is the feedback on the task. Please consider changing your process to: HR Interview, Tech Lead Interview, Coding Task, Coding Review or HT Interview, Coding Task, Coding Review, Tech Lead Interview. or at least have the decency to compensate your applicants with a feedback on the work you make them do to proceed in your process. Other companies do that!

intial call with recruiter and then a coding assessment test. coding was leetcode medium level questions. after that was a live coding interview. for approx 1 hour and then a systems design interview for designing a payment system.
