Entrevista
I recently attended an interview for a Software Developer position. The overall process was well organized and consisted of three rounds.
Round 1: Online Assessment
The first round was an online coding test with two programming questions and 20 multiple-choice questions on data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases, and aptitude. The coding problems were of medium difficulty. I was able to solve both questions within the allotted time.
Round 2: Technical Interview
The technical interview lasted about 50 minutes. The interviewer started by asking me to introduce myself and explain the projects listed on my resume. They asked detailed questions about my role, the technologies I used, and the challenges I faced.
Some of the technical questions included:
Explain the difference between a process and a thread.
What are the four pillars of object-oriented programming?
How does a hash map work internally?
Write a program to reverse a linked list.
Explain the time complexity of different sorting algorithms.
Describe normalization in databases.
What is REST API, and what are HTTP methods?
The interviewer also asked me to optimize one of my coding solutions and explain its time and space complexity.
Round 3: HR Interview
The HR interview was conversational and focused on my background and career goals. Some questions included:
Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to join our company?
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Describe a situation where you worked in a team.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Are you willing to relocate?
The interviewer also discussed the company culture, work environment, and answered my questions about the role.
Overall Experience
The interview process was smooth and professional. The interviewers were friendly and gave me enough time to think before answering. The technical round focused more on understanding concepts and problem-solving than memorizing answers. I learned the importance of revising core computer science subjects, practicing coding problems, and being confident while explaining projects.
Difficulty Level: Moderate (3.5/5)
Tips for Future Candidates:
Practice coding problems on data structures and algorithms.
Revise core subjects like DBMS, OS, OOP, and Computer Networks.
Be prepared to explain every project mentioned on your resume.
Communicate your thought process clearly while solving problems.
Stay calm and confident throughout the interview.
