The interview process consisted of three stages.
In the first stage, I spoke with a Talent Acquisition specialist. It was a smooth conversation about my previous professional and academic experiences. It was a light, friendly discussion with important questions to understand my background and how I handle work.
The second stage was with a hiring manager. This wasn't exactly an interview - the manager mainly explained a coding challenge that I needed to deliver within a few days. It was a Spark and Scala project involving DataFrame transformations and exporting files. I found this one very interesting. In addition to the challenge, I also had to complete a Gorilla test, which was a timed multiple-choice assessment. It had three parts: general computer science questions, data engineering questions and logic questions.
The next stage was with a manager and someone from HR. It initially felt similar to the first interview, and then they asked some specific questions about the role. The conversation was more informative than evaluative, and at the end, they asked about my salary expectations.
