My experience with Ryan, the recruiter, was phenomenal. He genuinely took his time to try and understand my background and the job description ahead of the interview and thereby was able to ask relevant questions tailored to my career and my professional achievements. Thanks to his preparation, it took so much pressure off me as the interview evolved as I didn’t feel like I had to “explain” myself as much and the conversation just flowed naturally. But what makes Ryan a class apart is his empathetic and genuine nature. He wasn't just trying to weed away candidates; he’s trying to help put qualified individuals in the right positions. He felt more like an advocate for me instead of a security guard. Usually HR recruiters do their phone screen and then they disappear, but Ryan actually followed up with me before and after the interview just to encourage me, see how I was doing and if I needed anything. I feel that I actually made a great relationship with Ryan. He epitomizes how every recruiter should be: supportive, hardworking, and genuinely enabled to want the best for the person he deals with. If more recruiters emulated Ryan's professionalism, the job market would be more robust with people in the right jobs, leading to less attrition and higher job satisfaction. This is an inspirational dude and I hope Xos knows what they have.
