Received an initial email from a recruiter who had found me on Linkedin. We scheduled a time to speak and the next day I received a call from the recruiter and it went very very well so I was told I would proceed. A few days later, I had an interview with the hiring manager. He asked me about my experience to date and asked me to list everything out in 'reverse chronological order but starting with my academic history'. So, I started by stating my degree and talking about where I had studied and why. Then I started talking about my current role. In the middle of this he stopped me abruptly and said "no! I wanted you to list your experience in reverse chronological order starting with your first job!'. I apologized for the misunderstanding and everything went on from there. I was really bothered by the fact that there was LOUD typing through the phone whenever I tried to speak. I understand he was taking notes, but I've never had an interview like that. In general, the interview was really cold - not what I expected from a job listing that emphasized passion, personality, and humor! It became more of an interrogation than an interview. After all the talk over my CV, we moved on to questions about why I wanted to work for Twitter, why I thought I would make a good candidate, and what I knew about Twitter's products. I only covered one part of what Twitter offered to it's clients before he cut me off to move on. I actually asked if I could go back and talk more about the products and how I had used them in the past for my former employer and he responded with a nonchalant "nope nope nope, I think you have it covered". Needless to say, I started looking elsewhere.
