Interview was easy but long. The recruiters really take their time to try and match your resume with a good team. I got very lucky with my team as my recruiter took her time to find me one where I would shine.
Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 días. Acudí a una entrevista en WorldLink (Frisco, TX) en may 2020
Entrevista
I applied to an ad on Indeed for this WorldLink company not knowing anything about them mainly because the language used in said ad made the position sound potentially interesting. I was almost immediately pummeled by messages of every kind informing me that I had been "shortlisted" and demanding that I speak to them immediately. It was weird.
I called the WorldLink representative back when I had a chance and she was really, really pointlessly aggressive. What did she need to talk to me about so urgently? Well, she wanted to know how many years of Rails experience I had. I had already answered that question twice on two different forms when I applied and my résumé listed quite a few Rails related positions, but she needed to ask again.
At that point it became clear that WorldLink exists for no reason other than to feed Samsung contract labor and the position I was actually applying for would be at Samsung with WorldLink taking a cut of my pay. She was trying to coax me into writing some "bullet points" for her to "sell" to the hiring manager at Samsung who doesn't like to read and I was pretty checked out on the entire affair but didn't want to be rude. She said she'd send me the job description I still had not actually been presented with along with another form that I'd have to fill out in order to get "shortlisted" (never mind the fact that she'd already told me I'd been "shortlisted" over and over to get me to call her back) and she really needed it filled out ASAP because she was going to meet with the hiring manager in a couple of hours. I said sure and awaited receipt of this form.
I got the form. The fifth "question" on it was "date of birth."
I emailed the recruiter back informing her that this information was both irrelevant and asking for my age was highly illegal and she immediately began calling and emailing me frantically with excuses like "it's just an old form" and "everybody leaves that part blank."
To top it all off, the job description made it clear that whoever gets stuck with this role will be building tools that help Samsung TVs spy on their owners. I would recommend avoiding these shady folks unless you really want to work at Samsung for some reason.
