Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en World Resources Institute (Washington, DC)

      Entrevista

I interviewed for a job with them last year. My friend had a similar experience with them very recently, so I decided to pop in here and leave a review. It was just a phone interview for me, brief (as was scheduled), but the hiring person I spoke with was honestly quite rude and sounded distracted/annoyed the whole interview. I think we both realized I was not a good fit for this role. For sure. But combined with having heard negative things from 2 colleagues who had worked there (Washington DC) previously a few years ago, it all left a sour taste in my mouth regarding this company. It was the first time I had ever sort of given up halfway through an interview and just wanted it to end, personally. Just being honest.

      Entrevista

Excruciatingly long process with poor communication. I applied for a position at the beginning of March and experienced significant delays and cancellations throughout the interview process. Here's a detailed timeline: Applied at the beginning of March and received an invitation for a phone screen near the end of the month (March 26). The second round interview was then scheduled for April 1 with the hiring manager. Two hours before the interview was to start I got an abrupt email from HR saying that the interview was canceled. No explanation was given at the time. A few days after following up, the recruiter said that two other team members would take over and the second round would be rescheduled for mid-April. Those two team members canceled, and I finally managed to schedule a shorter second-round interview with one other team member two weeks later (April 16th). It was a good experience overall. Solid questions and a responsive interviewer, and they explained what happened with the cancellation. I left with a great impression of the team and I was excited to see if I would be moved on to the third-round panel interview. Then radio silence for a month. I reached out to both the recruiter and the interviewer. The latter finally responded around mid-May to say that due to team members being out of the office there was no timeline to finalize their decision. I wrote back to say that I understood and I did sincerely appreciate the transparency. I tried to hint that I would be prioritizing offers with immediate start dates to nudge them to finally send a rejection since it was clear they either a.) missing crucial team members who were needed to hire for this role or b.) working towards an offer for another candidate. It has been a whole month since that last interaction with the interviewer. No automatic emails from the recruiter, nor updates bringing the total length of this process to just over 3 months and counting. Suggestions for Improvement: 1.) Reject candidates in a timely fashion if they're not being considered. 2.) Improve communication and transparency throughout the process. 3.) Consider automatic updates to keep candidates informed. WRI is a tremendous organization, and improving the hiring process will reflect better on its internal operations. Please ensure candidates aren't left in limbo for months. It speaks to how well your processes work behind the scenes, and currently, I am not impressed.

Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. Acudí a una entrevista en World Resources Institute

      Entrevista

The initial phone interview was conducted with the Human Resources department. The second and final interview was conducted via phone with the entire team and last for maybe 40 to 50 minutes. During the interview, it was expected that I understand the team's mission and basic technical approach. The entire interview process lasted for 2 to 3 weeks. The human resources department spoke with me again (via phone) after the second interview was conducted to follow up.
