30 minute call with a recruiter followed by a 1 hour call with an HR rep and the hiring manager. The 30 minute call with the recruiter was redundant as they know nothing about the role. I asked what kind of product will the team be developing (I imagine it's going to be an internal web application for business purposes), but they somehow talked about eye-scanning doors they recently installed. It was weird. The hiring manager interview was even more bizarre. I felt like I was interviewing for a completely different role. The only technical requirement they truly cared about was ETL. Which really has nothing to do with being a Senior .NET Developer. The HR rep was there to ask those classic interview questions. One of which is "who inspires you?". Overall, I have a sense that they're in the early stages of a transition from old tech to new, and they're collecting developers to work on multiple archaic in-house systems. It was a bizarre interview and I have a sense that it'll be a nightmare to work there before it gets better.
