Recruiter asked technical questions about async/await, and experiences with APIs, TypeScript, microservices, React Hooks, and Docker/Kubernetes. Couldn't get a clear answer regarding salary ranges, but it seemed very low for the industry and expectations for the role. I was asked multiple questions about why I was looking for a new job.
Spoke with the hiring manager who was unable to provide clear answers about the team, size, and the role I was interviewing for. Sounds like they have a modern tech stack and good work life balance.
Two rounds of technical interviews, one was React and the other was an algorithm problem. For the algorithm round, I was unable to think to myself for 30 seconds straight because the interviewer kept interrupting my thought process and talking. I think he was trying to be supportive but it had the opposite affect and made solving the problem very difficult.
For a couple rounds, the zoom links were not sent until the second before the meeting was scheduled for. All the people I spoke with were very friendly and I got the impression of very good work life balance, but the overall candidate experience should be improved.
