      Entrevista para Localization Project Coordinator

      14 ene 2018
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      New York, NY
      Sin ofertas
      Experiencia negativa
      Entrevista difícil

      Solicitud

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en WeWork (New York, NY) en dic 2017

      Entrevista

Thoroughly frustrating and a waste of time. Played email tag with the female recruiter until finally pinning her down to a time when she would be available to talk. Scheduled interview. The time for the interviews comes...and goes without a call. Emailed and called her (left my contact information) to find out what happened. When she finally got back to me, she said she had been pulled into a meeting and thus missed our SCHEDULED CALL. It happens, right? Once, but TWICE? Re-scheduled another phone interview for another day/time. The date/time came...and went AGAIN without a phone call. Despite having called her and left her my contact information, she called a different number (I had applied via LinkedIn and another number is associated with that account). Shouldn't matter because I had left a message with my contact information the FIRST TIME she left me hanging. Wrote back to her to re-re-schedule, but she was going to be out for the holidays for a week and half, until Jan. 4. Fine. People go on vacation, but if the position is open, shouldn't you forward your candidate to another person who will be available to continue to get the ball rolling? (more on this later). Jan. 4 comes...and goes, so I reach out to her AGAIN (who's recruiting who here?) That's when I received this message: Hi [my name], Apologies for the delay in response. I am actually no longer recruiting for WeWork and have moved on to another division of the company. Also, I believe we've extended an offer to someone else for this role. Should you see another opportunity on the careers' page that interests you, II (sic) would highly encourage you to apply. Thanks, [Her name] Huh? Which part of this THOROUGHLY WASTEFUL and FRUSTRATING experience could she point towards in order for me to want to work with this company EVER? Also, checked my records. I had applied to this position a year before and guess what? More lack of professionalism. While I did have a Skype interview with them (which admittedly didn't go so well), I followed up to thank her for her time. Never after my Skype interview did I receive a message informing me about their determination about not moving forward with my candidacy. Not even an acknowledgment of my thanks. Up until this last experience, I was following WeWork on glassdoor.com (I am a member of the WeWork network and have visited a couple of their locations after they offered me free workspace). I no longer follow WeWork here on glassdoor.com and will NOT pursue employment opportunities with them in the future. Their lack of professionalism is shocking. Finally, as others have said, WeWork has an incredible identity-crisis. They bill themselves as a "tech" company but as a user of their platform, I could tell you from experience that their app sucks. It's terrible. They are a real estate company who happens to use technology in order to expand itself and serve their tech clients. Get over yourselves, you're not a "tech" company just because you managed to con a couple of Silicon Valley investors and neither of your directors is Mark Zuckerberg.
