Setting up interview through HR
- HR was rude and condescending, sounded like she was a one person show and taking it out on the candidate.
- Did not confirm which position this interview was referring too. Only mentioned, this is for the city of which the position was for. Since I had two different cities, I understood which one.
- She thought the Date of which I said I was available for a call was a Tuesday instead of a Wednesday when checking the schedule.
Actual Interview
Pros
- The people I interviewed with were great people.
- Interview experience itself was a solid one.
- Pretty standard questions, nothing from left field in terms of questions.
Cons
- The interview was not for the position I applied for.
- When checking with the hiring manager on the interview, I mentioned I have an email confirmation that I was applying for Retail Account Manager, and the Hiring manager was descripting Account Specialist.
- After the interview, I checked my information, and Yes, 2 weeks ago, applied for Retail Account Manager and have a confirmation email from WD automated system. In the WD job search portal, there was an update make 5 days later that the position had changed, and the title said Retail Account Specialist.
- No update was provided to me, and I am also applying non stop, so this is an easy miss if you're in the thick of job searching.
As much as Employers expect detail focus, I think it's also fair for employees or interviewees to expect detail focus for the employer and interviewers as well.
We all know WD, and it is a huge company. My experience is probably an anomaly, but still, a poor experience none the less. Do not wish any ill will, just telling like it is.
