Interview for Graphic Designer Position – About 6 months ago I attended an interview with this company about half a year ago, involving an HR representative and two senior-level managers—all women. While they maintained polite smiles, their tone and demeanor felt sarcastic and condescending throughout the interview, which was very uncomfortable. During the interview, I was asked how quickly I could produce a motion graphic. I explained that quality motion graphics take time, as with any design work, but they seemed to expect someone who could deliver very quickly without compromising quality. What was especially upsetting was that I had already clearly stated my expected salary in the application form. I assumed they reviewed my portfolio and credentials before inviting me to interview. However, the HR representative openly ridiculed my salary expectation, which felt humiliating and unprofessional. Having interviewed at many companies, I understand that recruitment is a two-way process. If they felt I was not a good fit, a polite and respectful rejection would have been appreciated. Instead, the disrespect left a very negative impression. For context, I am currently working at a multinational company. I am sharing this experience here so others can be aware of the kind of treatment they might face during the interview process at this company
