I applied direct through the online recruitment website, it was just over a month afterwards that I received an email inviting me to book an interview slot online. In my interview I was asked competency and behavioural based questions. It was a new experience for me as being a creative I have never had an interview that formal before. Unfortunately because of the style of interview (not allowing room for creativity, feeling very scripted and heavily question orientated) I didn't feel I could express my true self as a creative and I decided against proceeding with my application. As a member of the Virgin group, especially in the creative field I guess I expected a more creative vibe but that wasn't the case. That's probably down to the hiring process more than the company but it felt very corporate and not what I've come to experience of a Virgin brand. It is important for me to feel at ease in an interview but unfortunately the interview made me feel very on edge, and I didn't feel I was the right fit for the company.
