      Entrevista

      After a positive first round interview with HR, my second round "design-focused" interview was definitely one of the most awkward of my career. It seemed as if they had made their decision beforehand (that I was not going to be a good fit) and it felt like they were begrudgingly going through the motions to prove a point or something. Possibly a sign of internal politics...? There was a very strange, detached, cold air to the whole conversation. No smile, no warmth, barely a nod, despite my best efforts to lighten the mood and keep the conversation friendly. Interviewing is a delicate art form on both sides of the table and this was terribly uncomfortable. I sincerely hope that Versus management can accept this feedback and improve their designer evaluations and interview skills to make future candidates feel more comfortable than I did.

      I'm very sorry to hear about this negative experience. We take a lot of pride in creating an open, respectful, and beneficial work environment and interview experience - no matter the outcome. Since this series of interviews took place, we have stepped up our coaching for managers and other team members conducting interviews. Through a series of internal interviews and feedback, I can personally attest - and have been reassured through other interviewees - that things on this front have improved.
