Verizon's recruiting contractor found my resume from one of the sites I posted it to and contacted me by email. I verified I would be interested in working for Verizon and they set up a time for a phone interview. Then somebody from Verizon's HR interviews you.

It was a typical job interview application process for a large matrixed organization. It took several weeks to hear back and did touch base to see where I was in the processs.
