The entire process spanned over a month, beginning with a 45-minute HR screening interview. Following that, I submitted a technical exercise as part of the evaluation, which led to a 1-hour technical interview with the Principal Engineer.

I had two interviews, the first was a standard general screening interview with three team leads and the second was a technical interview (the second interview was after a technical test, that occurred between the two interviews).
The first interview was really positive and easygoing, it was to gauge my fit within the company as well as going over my experience and portfolio. The second interview however, was incredibly difficult and I was asked to demonstrate my ability in an area that I did not know and which was outside the scope of the role.
Naturally after the second interview due to failing the out-of-scope task (asking to reverse-engineer modern x64 assembly code when it was a C++ software engineering job...) I was not offered the role.
Additionally I was asked to give definitions for many different areas of software development that had multiple uses, "interpreter" for example in C++ is the stage of compilation where the compiler ensures there's no syntax errors in the code- however it is also code system for scripting languages.
I'm disappointed because it was going well until the second interview, I was told by one of the team leads after the interview that they use the same questions for senior software development positions too- why are they being used for a junior position? I feel Verimatrix let me down by not asking questions appropriate to the role.

Interview process started with a phone interview, had some basic technical questions, nothing too out of the ordinary. Was brought onsite for a very long 6 hour interview process with various members from all sorts of roles. They went through behavioral questions, technical questions, logic puzzles, and simply talking over lunch with a few of the team leads.
